What is the most important technological invention to benefit society?

By far, the most important invention to our society was the creation of books. Books are a very helpful tool in education. They are an informational source for students and adults that can be easily obtained. Books help give the readers other point of view. For example, the authors might share their own opinions to help shape the mind of the reader. Finally books inspire others. When read, the ideas that were written are given to others to explore and experiment with. While books started out unappreciated and rare, they have become a major role in society selling millions of copies.

In every class at school each student has at least one book. With these books the students learn english, history, math and anything else they choose to read about. When outside of school, students can take books home with them and learn the methods written without the help of a teacher. Books in school are very valuable because the students can all get the same information together. For example, in a history class, the teacher can make a reference toward the book to the entire class, and they will all understand. If by chance someone doesn’t understand, then the teacher can easily explain because they will know what the student is asking about. The ability to convey the same messages and ideas to a group of people is a very valuable capability. Books make this possible and even easy.

Another advantage that the creation of books has given us is the opportunity to form our own, unique opinions. To grasp a full understanding of a subject one must look at it from different points of view. Books make this very easy because there are a huge variety of subjects. For instance, if someone wanted to learn about politics, they could choose books that are liberal, conservative, and everything in between. One could also read autobiographies, or even primary source books to get a better idea of the subject they are researching. Autobiographies are great ways to learn about certain topics, because the author can specifically tell the reader their opinion. Authors of books all have their own unique way of writing. This makes books very special to people who are trying to get an idea of their own views. Books are an essential way to learn about everyone’s own unique styles.

Books inspire the readers. Mostly every movie made is based off a book that inspired the director. Even other books are created from ideas that the author has read somewhere else. Books also inspire ordinary people. When read the subjects come to life. The reader gets their own feelings and ideas from the books they read. The huge diversity of the types of books is perfect for creating ideas. One may choose to read fantasy, horror, non-fiction, or biographies. The romance novels may inspire someone to love another, or the biographies may inspire the reader to step out of their shell. While books have other, practical uses, they also are read just for fun. If someone reads about the struggles another person had, it may inspire them to do good things. Or if a child reads about witches and wizards, it may inspire them to believe in things that are otherwise unbelievable. Inspiration is the most important advantage the creation of books has given society.

Books were not always very popular. This was mainly because there was no way to mass produce them. Now however, books are everywhere, being created into huge motion pictures and selling millions of copies. Books are now printed in various languages and are sold everywhere. Books connect people through common ideas, and are shared among friends. They are cherished, passed down, and read over and over again. Books keep memories of people alive, and convey messages for others years after being written. By far, the most important invention to our society was the creation of books.
